It is important for students to apply the concepts to projects and explorations. These provide students the opportunity to apply critical thinking skills and have deeper level of understanding.

I am a high school math and STEM teacher. For years, I have implemented projects into my math classroom for students to engage in STEM activities so they could apply the concepts they were learning. Not are they only applying concepts, but they are communicating thoughts and ideas, they are using critical thinking skill and even learn and use basic building skills. I want my students to be intriqued by what they are learning, to ask questions and explore the applications of the content. These skills will help develop them into life long learners.
