Digging Deeper: The Story of Soil

Are you ready to get your hands dirty? “Digging Deeper: The Story of Soil” is a hands-on program that encourages children to draw connections between our world and the world just beneath our feet. We'll explore how soil is formed and learn to recognize the characteristics of healthy soil. In the process, we'll learn why soil is vital to both natural ecosystems and human society. This program is supported by the Mark Jay Tygel Endowment for Educational Programs in The Arboretum at Penn State.
